Private Occasions
If you have an excuse to party – perhaps a wedding, special anniversary or birthday celebration – the grandeur of the Clubhouse’s Grade II listed building's historic and illustrious past provides the perfect setting for any occasion. Whether it is for a small dinner party, business lunch or for a large celebratory occasion, the Clubhouse offers excellent surroundings in a superb location. No. 4 St James's Square is a quite exceptional building and great care has been taken to retain all the original features that adorn the magnificent staterooms.

The Library, or Cowdray Room
The Cowdray Room, home to the Club’s library, contains over 4000 books, mainly in the fields of military science and history. There are autobiographies and books covering general history, geography and travel, plus a shelf dedicated to ‘bedtime reading’ .
Whether searching for a book to borrow or reclining in an armchair with a cream tea and sinking into the covers of your chosen read, the library is undoubtedly a place of blissful peace and calm.
Many of DNK’s pre-dinner cocktails are served in this room.
The Astor Room
This room is name after the second Viscount Astor and his celebrated wife, Nancy – the first woman to sit in Parliament. For thirty years, No 4 St James Square was their home. This room is often used by DNK for its Ladies' Luncheons when the weather does not permit the Ladies to sit in the Courtyard. It is also used for pre-dinner drinks or post-dinner coffees after DNK dinners. The balcony overlooks the Courtyard.
King Harald V Room
The King Harald V Room is perfect for larger formal dinners, and can comfortably sit 80 people at round tables.
Music
The grand piano in the lobby can be moved into the other rooms if necessary.
