Den Norske Klub Art Series: Henrik Ibsen’s “LADY FROM THE SEA”
March 8 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Print Room at The Coronet, Friday 8th March 2018
Ellida, a lighthouse keeper’s daughter, was born where the fjord meets the ocean. Now trapped in a difficult marriage to a British doctor, Ellida longs for the open sea. Will the return of a former lover offer her a real choice? A story of self-determination, modern families, loving other people’s children, and always looking for the perfect relationship, The Lady from the Sea was shocking in its challenge of societal norms when it premiered in 1889.
To mark the 130th anniversary of The Lady from the Sea, the Norwegian Ibsen Company in conjunction with The Print Room at The Coronet is staging a new production bringing forth the deep connection Ibsen felt with the Norwegian culture within which he lived. With performers and creatives from both UK and Norway, The Lady from the Sea follows the Print Room’s hugely successful 2018 collaboration with National Theatre of Norway, Little Eyolf, with many of the team returning for this shattering new production.
Den Norske Klub Art Series, in cooperation with The Print Room at The Coronet, is delighted to have been able to secure tickets to the National Theatre of Norway’s acclaimed production. We also have the pleasure of inviting our members and their guests to a post-theatre talk with the much celebrated Norwegian actor and Ibsen interpreter, Kaare Conradi.
Tickets are £30 for members and reserved on a first come first serve basis. Members may bring 1 guest. RSVP by 1st March.
Note: the performance is in Norwegian with English subtitles.
Time: Performance at 7.30pm followed by a post-theatre talk with Norwegian actor and Ibsen connoiseur Kaare Conradi.
Venue: Print Room at The Coronet, 103 Notting Hill Gate, London, W11 3LB

This production is funded by The InterNational Foundation, with support from The Norwegian Ibsen Company. The foundation aims to strengthen the National Theatre of Norway’s reach and impact nationally and internationally, celebrating common European culture and taking Norwegian drama abroad.
